Andrew Shears
Principal
Andrew was admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of Victoria in 2008.
He has worked on complex and high-profile criminal matters, representing clients with rape and murder charges. He has extensive experience appearing in drug related cases and driving charges and his legal practice covers the full spectrum of criminal matters.
Andrew forged his career in the criminal law as a Senior Associate in private practice and worked extensively for Victoria Legal Aid, where he has held managerial responsibility.
Andrew also worked as a Chief of Staff to a Member of Parliament and has been involved in significant progressive law reform, including bringing a Spent Convictions Scheme to Victoria. He has taught lawyers on the subject of Bail.
Andrew practices solely as a criminal lawyer, appearing daily in courts across Melbourne. Andrew prides himself on meticulous preparation, treats clients with respect and provides the highest standard of care and service.
